They were assigned to an EMT-Basic or EMT-Paramedic level <img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"size-medium wp-image-3779 alignright\" title=\"Rockville High School Job Shadow - Ambulance Service of Manchester \" alt=\"Rockville High School Job Shadow - Ambulance Service of Manchester \" src=\"http:\/\/asm-aetna.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/02\/Rockville-HS-Job-Shadow-02-300x199.png\" width=\"300\" height=\"199\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.asm-aetna.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/02\/Rockville-HS-Job-Shadow-02-300x199.png 300w, https:\/\/www.asm-aetna.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/02\/Rockville-HS-Job-Shadow-02-451x300.png 451w, https:\/\/www.asm-aetna.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/02\/Rockville-HS-Job-Shadow-02.png 903w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/>ambulance a five hour job shadow experience. During that time they toured the facility, were shown the ambulance and equipment and went on real 911 calls and inter-facility transports. Through this they witnessed the day-to-day activities of an EMT in commercial EMS.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">EMS careers draw interest from young people who want and feel they need variation in their day-to-day. Often those who are looking for a career in medicine shadow in EMS to see the leading edge of the emergency care system.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">One student was back for her second year and among another student&#8217;s goals for the day was to deliver a baby.
