{"id":5425,"date":"2014-03-24T07:00:48","date_gmt":"2014-03-24T07:00:48","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.asm-aetna.com\/blog\/?p=5425"},"modified":"2014-03-24T13:24:30","modified_gmt":"2014-03-24T13:24:30","slug":"asms-alpha-five-volume-7-david-white","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.asm-aetna.com\/blog\/asms-alpha-five-volume-7-david-white\/","title":{"rendered":"ASM\u2019s Alpha Five: Volume 7: David White"},"content":{"rendered":"<div dir=\"ltr\" style=\"text-align: justify;\"><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"alignleft size-medium wp-image-5431\" alt=\"Dave White A\" src=\"http:\/\/www.asm-aetna.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/03\/Dave-White-A-300x237.jpg\" width=\"300\" height=\"237\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.asm-aetna.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/03\/Dave-White-A-300x237.jpg 300w, https:\/\/www.asm-aetna.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/03\/Dave-White-A-378x300.jpg 378w, https:\/\/www.asm-aetna.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/03\/Dave-White-A.jpg 641w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/><strong>Johnson Medic Dave White describes his career path.<\/strong><\/div>\n<div dir=\"ltr\" style=\"text-align: justify;\"><\/div>\n<div dir=\"ltr\" style=\"text-align: justify;\"><\/div>\n<div dir=\"ltr\" style=\"text-align: justify;\">I grew up in the small town of Sterling and graduated Plainfield High School in 1998.\u00a0\u00a0 I joined the Connecticut Army National Guard in 1997, went to basic training at Fort Leonard Wood and went to Fort Eustis VA for ten months of aircraft avionics school.\u00a0 I spent the next\u00a0five years going to drills and traveling throughout the\u00a0country for training.\u00a0 I left the\u00a0Guard\u00a0six months before\u00a0my unit was\u00a0sent to Iraq.&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>When I returned home in 1998 I joined\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.sterlingfirect.com\/\">Sterling Fire Department<\/a>\u00a0and\u00a0went to Fire Fighter-I school and Medical Response Technician training.\u00a0 I felt a greater connection to EMS. \u00a0I joined two of the local EMS departments;\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.kbambulance.com\/\">K-B Ambulance<\/a>\u00a0and\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/moosupambulance.com\/\">Moosup-Plainfield Ambulance<\/a>\u00a0in 1999.\u00a0 I took an MRT to EMT-B bridge class and became Moosup-Plainfield Ambulance&#8217;s training officer shortly after\u00a0I became an EMT-B.\u00a0 \u00a0 I remained active in both departments for the next three years until I moved out of the area.\u00a0I was hired at ASM in March of 2002 and worked as an EMT-B and Dispatcher for the next two years. I started Paramedic school and returned to working only the road while I attended Hartford Hospital&#8217;s paramedic program. \u00a0For the next 16 months I worked hard and finished first in my class.<\/p>\n<p>In 2005 I became a paramedic and started precepting with Bob O&#8217;Neil as my primary preceptor and with Don\u00a0Hart.\u00a0 After I was cleared and on my own as a paramedic I was lucky to be one of the first full time Paramedics to work out of ASM&#8217;s\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.jmmc.com\/#top\">Johnson Memorial Medical Center<\/a>\u00a0office.\u00a0<!--more-->Since 2007 I have been one of the two main night paramedics who work at out the JMH office. I have been lucky to work with two main partners\u00a0Alan Pardi EMT-I and Ray Philbrick EMT-B. \u00a0I am privileged to also work for two other area Paramedic-level EMS services. Over the last few years I have starting taking Critical Care classes and plan to take a CCEMT-P course and obtain my FP-C in the next two years.<\/p>\n<p>I bought my home in 2009 in the Town of Vernon.\u00a0 I live there with my girlfriend Stephanie and her six year-old\u00a0daughter Victoria.\u00a0 We have a puppy named Hallie, who is part golden Retriever and Tennessee Mountain Kur, and a cat.\u00a0 I love to travel and I have been to Thailand, England, France, Mexico and many island in the Caribbean.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<!-- AddThis Advanced Settings generic via filter on the_content --><!-- AddThis Share Buttons generic via filter on the_content -->","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Johnson Medic Dave White describes his career path.
