HARTFORD\u00a0\u2013 \u00a0As of March 18, 2015, Aetna\u2019s Samuel Dybdahl\u00a0has been cleared by Hartford Hospital\u00a0medical control for independent dispatch as a paramedic to the towns that Aetna serves.<\/p>\n
Sam\u2019s preceptor was\u00a0Paramedic Matt Campbell. The full precepting phase can take ten to 12 weeks or more as the paramedic is prepped for the realities of the field.\u00a0As with all precepting phases at Aetna, Sam\u2019s final approval came from Hartford Hospital\u00a0after shadowing him\u00a0and his preceptor in the field as they responded to emergency calls.<\/p>\n
Sam has a bachelor\u2019s degree in Business Administration, is a nationally registered Paramedic and received training as an Army Critical Care Flight Paramedic from University of Texas Health Science Center in San Antonio, TX. He \u00a0is\u00a0a combat medic and healthcare specialist in the military since 2008 with one deployment to Afghanistan. Sam says he enjoys\u00a0helping others and furthering his\u00a0knowledge within the medical field.\u00a0In his\u00a0spare time he often\u00a0competes in Duathlon\/Triathlons, road races and weight lifting.<\/p>\n
