Below is a warning issued by\u00a0<strong>CT DESPP-EMHS.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong><a href=\"http:\/\/www.asm-aetna.com\/blog\/2017\/02\/09\/winter-storm-tracking\/maxresdefault\/\" rel=\"attachment wp-att-7959\"><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"alignleft  wp-image-7959\" src=\"http:\/\/www.asm-aetna.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/maxresdefault-300x169.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"485\" height=\"279\" \/><\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>WINTER STORM WARNINGS ARE NOW IN EFFECT FOR THE ENTIRE STATE\u2026<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>BLIZZARD WARNINGS HAVE BEEN ISSUED FOR LONG ISLAND\u2026<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>HEAVY SNOWSTORM UNDERWAY ACROSS SOUTHERN NEW ENGLAND\u2026<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>STATUS OF THE STATE EMERGENCY OPERATIONS CENTER &#8211; ACTIVATED<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>At 7:45 AM: Moderate to heavy snow was falling across the state. Roads are quickly<\/p>\n<p>becoming snow covered with lowering visibilities. Temperatures are currently in the<\/p>\n<p>upper 20\u2019s and low 30\u2019s across the state. Northeast winds are sustained at 10 \u2013 15<\/p>\n<p>MPH, gusting to 30 MPH at times along the coast.<\/p>\n<p>Rest of This Morning: Snow, heavy at times with near blizzard conditions and<\/p>\n<p>snowfall rates up to 3\u201d per hour. A major impact on travel is expected with several<\/p>\n<p>inches of snow on most roads. Very slick driving conditions are expected with low<\/p>\n<p>visibilities down to \u00bc mile at times. Northeast winds will increase to 15 \u2013 25 MPH,<\/p>\n<p>gusting to 35 MPH at times along the coast. Temperatures will continue to fall into<\/p>\n<p>the upper 20&#8217;s by noon.<\/p>\n<p>This Afternoon: Snow beginning to taper off during the early afternoon and ending by<\/p>\n<p>5:00 PM. Blowing and drifting of the snow is expected with north winds gusting to 20<\/p>\n<p>&#8211; 35 MPH. The impact on the afternoon rush hour is expected to be at the high end of<\/p>\n<p>moderate with some snow cover remaining on most roads and temperatures in the<\/p>\n<p>upper 20&#8217;s.<\/p>\n<p>Total accumulations are currently forecast to range from 12&#8243; &#8211; 16&#8243; statewide with<\/p>\n<p>isolated higher amounts especially in eastern CT. The snow is expected to be dryer in<\/p>\n<p>northern and central CT and somewhat wetter along the southeast coast. No icing or<\/p>\n<p>significant coastal flooding is expected with this storm.
