{"id":9712,"date":"2018-11-29T16:15:43","date_gmt":"2018-11-29T21:15:43","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.asm-aetna.com\/blog\/?p=9712"},"modified":"2018-11-29T16:15:43","modified_gmt":"2018-11-29T21:15:43","slug":"aetna-appears-on-local-news-2","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.asm-aetna.com\/blog\/aetna-appears-on-local-news-2\/","title":{"rendered":"Aetna Appears On Local News"},"content":{"rendered":"<div class=\"entry-content\">\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.asm-aetna.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/Aetna-Local-News-3.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"alignleft size-full wp-image-9713\" src=\"http:\/\/www.asm-aetna.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/Aetna-Local-News-3.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"555\" height=\"391\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.asm-aetna.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/Aetna-Local-News-3.jpg 555w, https:\/\/www.asm-aetna.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/Aetna-Local-News-3-300x211.jpg 300w, https:\/\/www.asm-aetna.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/Aetna-Local-News-3-426x300.jpg 426w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 555px) 100vw, 555px\" \/><\/a>HARTFORD, Conn. \u2013\u00a0When Aetna Ambulance EMT Ray Berwick realized his partner Chris Cabral was suffering a stroke last month, he quickly rushed his partner to Hartford Hospital, where the trauma team immediately operated on Cabral.<\/p>\n<p>Cabral had a blood clot near his carotid artery,\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/fox61.com\/2018\/11\/28\/emt-saves-partner-who-was-suffering-from-stroke\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">according to WTIC<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Cabral said suffering the stroke while in the ambulance was a bit like winning the lottery.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cHe recognized something wasn\u2019t right,&#8221; Cabral said of his partner Berwick. \u201cI was inches away from dying and my partner saved my life.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Berwick has been working alongside Cabral for the past two and a half years.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Just seeing him walking around and knowing how lucky it is, it\u2019s awesome,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<p>In a ceremony Berwick was recognized for his quick thinking, along with the team at Hartford Hospital.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe role that first responders play is truly, truly lifesaving,\u201d said Jeffrey Flaks, the president of Hartford Healthcare, at the ceremony.<\/p>\n<p>Cabral is undergoing physical therapy but Hartford Hospital neurologists said they expect him to make a full recovery.
