Leslie Sofia Prado migrated from Lima, Peru with her family as a young child and settled in Hartford.  She is dedicated to advocating high quality care for all patients, and wants to engage the community that raised her in joining this work.  Prado’s diverse experiences as a student, researcher and health provider have given her a clear perspective on the gaps and weaknesses in the health care system.  She understands the correlation between social determinants of health and health outcomes and believes that multilateral collaborations in and outside of the community are needed to address the complexity of health inequities. Aetna and ASM in staging for the evacuation of Johnson Memorial.

The After Action Report (AAR) associated with the evacuation of Johnson Memorial Medical Center following Tropical Storm Irene has been posted by the Capitol Region Council of Governments and their regional disaster management committee.

Ambulance Service of Manchester Stays Active in Community

ASM gave the Hospital for Special Care a donation which supported the hospital’s sports camp for children with disabilities.

When thinking about the Ambulance Service of Manchester, some people will automatically think about the company responding to 911 calls. Sharon Vanover needed good news.

On July 30 in Stafford, a car with an allegedly drunk driver at the wheel crushed Vanover’s right leg as she rode on the back of husband Mark Vanover’s motorcycle. Recovery will be long and painful, and the Vanovers said they had to close one of their two day-care centers this week because Sharon cannot manage the business.

Into these dark days comes the Ambulance Service of Manchester and a modern version of the Cinderella story. Read more…
