ASM Receives Thanks During EMS Week!

ASM would like to thank Kevin McMahon and Community Child Guidance Clinic (CCGC) for providing breakfast, lunch, and dinner for the crews this past Tuesday. This was a great surprise, especially during EMS week. Over the last year, ASM has developed a partnership with CCGC to improve the relationships with both students and faculty. CCGC supports children with emotional and behavior issues by providing special education day school and a system of child and family-focused mental health services.

Thank you for thinking of us CCGC and Happy EMS Week to all!

ASM Holds First ACLS Experienced Provider Class!

The American Heart Association recently released an updated ACLS Experienced Provider curriculum. This program allows experienced paramedics to further expand their clinical knowledge using group discussion and research to “solve” cases presented to them. The course requires participants to pass a written exam and 3 practical stations. The class then moves onto the advanced content, which includes: Toxicology cases, Metabolic disturbances, Post-Resuscitation care, and complex Respiratory cases. This is the first time ASM has offered the program, and it was well-received by everyone involved. ASM plans on 2 more of these classes in 2020. See our website for details!
