I graduated from Capital Community College last May and have been working towards my goal since. After 15 weeks of riding and training, I’m ready for my next step as a solo paramedic. I can confidently say I’m ready for this due to the dedication and time all of my preceptors.”

As with all precepting phases at ASM, Jonathan’s final approval came from Eastern Connecticut Health Network after shadowing him and his preceptors in the field as they responded to emergency calls. ASM’s Josh Traber Receives a Thank You Visit

Traber's Visitors AMANCHESTER — On December 28, 2015 ASM Paramedic Josh Traber was visited by a family who wanted to thank them for caring for their three year old son Wesley. In June of 2015 Wesley had an allergic reaction to peanuts in South Windsor and was treated by Josh. Since that time he has asked each time he has seen an ambulance whether each one was “his ambulance”.

Wesley’s mom brought cookies and Josh gave Wesley and his older brother a tour of the ambulance. She said via email after their brief reunion, “Josh was wonderful to us that day.  He made me feel calm and at ease, and I am grateful for that.  The job you all do is really a gift, and you touch so many lives on a daily basis it takes a special person to do what you do.”

The patient marked Strongly Agree for all 15 categories answered within the survey. When asked to use or word or phrase to describe the crew the patient wrote: Professional competent Life Savers!

The patient went on to write, “I credit the entire team from ASM with saving my life. I especially thank Josh for staying in command with a calm effective professional demeanor. I appreciate that he listened carefully to me and took action to east my discomfort. He kept me informed all the way through even though to most people it may have appeared that I was losing the ability to communicate due to the pain. My diagnosis was life threatening and I am thankful every minute for all the team did to get me to the emergency room quickly and safely.”
